BGP Weekly Newsletter 6/12-6/19

The newsletter is back from vacation/hiatus. Let's dive in.

In Case You Missed It…

Video of part 2 of our webinar series on Public Banking for Baltimore is available! (Click here for part 1). Public banking has been a major component of BGP’s platform in the past. It's a bit of an esoteric subject for most of us but we believe that public banking can be an important driver of community-oriented development that would be of incredible benefit to the city. It's time to get these ideas out there and spread the debate.

What Is Coming Up and How Can I Get Involved?

BGP June General MeetingAt our general meeting this month we will be discussing a number of policy issues including how Baltimore should respond to the ongoing climate change crisis. We will also be starting the process of crafting a Green Party alternative to the toothless civilian police oversight bill currently making its way through City Council. We will also conduct party business and elect a new Party leadership team. Wednesday June 14th 7-9pm at the BGP office, 100 E. 23rd St.

Maryland Green Party 2017 State Assembly. The Maryland Green Party's annual assembly will be held in Baltimore this year. Expect a day of speakers, panels, workshops, and networking with fellow Greens. Eligible members will also vote for a new MGP leadership team and delegates to Green Party USA. The final agenda for this event will be released as soon as possible. Saturday June 24th 10am-4pm at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church, 2200 St. Paul St.
